James Jaytech Cayzer
Uplifting progressive house
Jaytech’s sound is uplifting progressive house. His signature style mixes upbeat melodies, atmospheric textures, and driving basslines.
Hailing from Canberra, Australia, James Jayech Cayzer has been producing and performing for over two decades. A trained pianist, Jaytech began producing music at 14 years old and released his first track at 16.
His work with Anjunadeep and Anjunabeats (especially his collaborations with Above & Beyond) cemented his spot as a pioneer of that melodic, progressive sound. Everything Is OK and multiverse are masterclasses in how to write electronic music with real emotional depth.
Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep connection
Jaytech holds a legendary status within the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep family. His debut artist album Everything Is OK (2008) was a groundbreaking release, marking the very first album on the Anjunadeep label.
His expertly crafted mixes on Anjunadeep 02 and Anjunadeep 03 compilations, created alongside James Grant, skyrocketed to #1 on the iTunes Dance Chart. These works, celebrated by Mixmag and fans alike, have become staples of the progressive house scene.
Jaytech first touched down on the Anjunabeats label from his native Australia back in 2007, and since then has woven his sound inextricably with both of Anjuna’s main labels and the history of the brand.
After working virtually with Anjuna and supporting Above & Beyond in Goa, he relocated to the UK where he worked as a studio engineer, and then A&R assistant to James, who, at the time was steadily growing the Anjunadeep label.
His foothold on both sides of the Anjuna world deepened, as he featured on the ‘Group Therapy’ tour, mixed compilations and travelled the world with both labels. Jaytech may, in his own words, have never “considered [himself] a core Beats or Deep artist, instead floating between,” but he is undoubtedly a pillar around which both labels grew, while still making room for his music and its “inherent Jimbo-ness”.
Jaytech's discography
Jaytech’s discography is a testament to his skills as a producer. Albums like Multiverse (2012) and Awakening (2015) showcase his finesse in blending melodic grooves with intricate rhythms. His notable single Genesis gained international acclaim when remixed by Tiësto for the In Search of Sunrise 5 compilation, opening doors to a much bigger audience.
Jaytech has collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Steve Smith, Soundprank, Matt Fax and many more.
